Mark A. Perkins Primary
Areas of Practice: Commercial litigation, workers' compensation defense, insurance
defense, consumer transactions and redhibition, trucking industry defense and employment
related defense.
Mark was born in 1962 in Monroe,
Louisiana. He graduated in 1983 from Northeast Louisiana University (magna cum laude) in
journalism.

| In 1987, he graduated from
Paul M. Hebert Law School at LSU Baton Rouge and was admitted to the practice of law in
1987. Mark worked for the
Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office for four and one-half years as a Felony Assistant
and as a Section Chief, litigating hundreds of bench and jury trials.
Between 1992 and 1998, as a shareholder at
the firm of Weems, Schimpf, Hayter, Gilsoul & Carmouche, Mark was actively involved in
the development of the insurance and employment defense section. After six and one-half
years with the Weems firm, he left to form his own defense practice.
Mark is licensed in
the States of Louisiana and Texas which qualifies him to practice in
all parishes of Louisiana and all counties of Texas; however he
focuses his practice area within 150 - 200 miles from Shreveport,
Louisiana. Because Shreveport is only twenty minutes from East
Texas, he can cost effectively represent clients in several counties
of Northeast Texas.
Mark is a member of Federal Western and Middle Districts of
Louisiana, the Federal
Fifth District Court of Appeal and the United
States Supreme Court, Shreveport Bar Association, and
the American Bar Association
(employment and litigation sections), Louisiana
Bar Association (employment section), Defense
Research Institute, Louisiana
Association of Defense Counsel, Trucking
Insurance Defense Association, Transportation
Lawyers Association, Louisiana Motor Transit Association, and the American Arbitration Association. He is a
former member of the Louisiana Association of District Attorneys
Mark has conducted
numerous training seminars for small businesses, industrial
relations associations and human resource managers on preventing
and defending harassment and discrimination claims. He has also
defended many complex litigation claims, particularly trucking
related claims.
Mark resides in
Shreveport with his wife , Joan Guillot Perkins. Their twin
daughters, Erica and Jessica, completed college in May 2009. Erica
was married to Michael Rhodes in May 2009 and they live in Baton
Rouge.

Christopher Baker
| Primary Areas of Practice:
insurance defense, consumer
transactions and redhibition, trucking industry defense, realtor professional liability
defense. Mr. Baker was born in Vivian, Louisiana in 1975 and graduated from Louisiana State
University in Shreveport with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science. He attended
Regent University School of Law in Virginia where he served as both President of the
Federalist Society and Managing Editor of the Regent Journal of Law and Public Policy.

| Throughout law school, Mr. Baker worked as a law clerk for the American Center for
Law and Justice (ACLJ), a conservative legal organization focusing on constitutional and
religious liberties. After receiving his J.D. in 2009, Mr. Baker continued as an Associate
with the ACLJ in Washington, D.C. involved with issues including international
and domestic policy, free speech, free exercise, 2nd Amendment rights, and federal
administrative rulemaking.
Mr. Baker was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in October 2009 and is currently licensed to practice in Louisiana, the United States District Court
for the Western District of Louisiana, and the United States Court of Appeals for the
5th Circuit. He is also a member of the Louisiana Bar Association, the Shreveport Bar Association, the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute.
